What is Kin Thai?
KIN
Food Philosophy
Thai cuisine is renowned for its diversity and deep historical influences from China, India, and Portuguese traders. Even the iconic papaya used in Som Tam is not originally native to Thailand.
At Kin Thai, we celebrate these vibrant, bold flavours. Our menu is carefully crafted to achieve the perfect five-flavour balance that is the hallmark of authentic Thai cuisine: Sweet, Spicy, Sour, Bitter, and Salty.

About the Chef
The chef of To Die For, Shashvat Dhandhania, still helms the pass.
He started the restaurant as a passion project. It is with the same passion that he still approaches food, culture and cooking, and hence takes up a new step through Kin Thai — his first dedicated exploration of Thai cuisine, in the same room as To Die For.
Prior to To Die For, he worked in different parts of the kitchen and service industry.
He did internships at:
- Smoke House Deli, Kolkata
- The Table, Bombay
He also trained at Michelin-starred restaurants like:
- Trishna, London
- Junoon, New York
He also spent time at:
- Janice Wong’s Sweet Factory, Singapore

The Dining Experience
Small Space.
Big Flavours.
Kin Thai lives within To Die For’s intimate 26-seat Park Street dining room, restyled for the pop-up with Thai-inspired elements and colours while retaining the understated character of the original space. The food itself brings the vibrancy — bright plates, brighter colours.
Neighbourhood-style dining
Ambience
Kin Thai lives inside To Die For’s Park Street dining room for the length of the pop-up — the same intimate, 26-seat space, restyled for the run rather than rebuilt.
It includes elements and colours that scream Thailand, while maintaining To Die For’s understated dining room.
The food itself provides a lot more vibrancy to the space, with the bright colours of the plates and the food.
